Snapshot of Our Day...

Arrival jobs- hanging up coats, putting belongings in cubbies, etc.

Free choice- children explore various materials in the classroom
(a great chance to work on social skills and using their creativity and
                imagination).

Group Meeting- Teacher led time where children will learn songs, fingerplays, and
have a chance to share news. Calendar and weather will be
                      discussed each day.

Center Time and Small Group Time- Teachers guide children in selecting interest
areas around the room.  At these centers, teachers will lead small
group activities that build on children’s skills and interests in the
areas of literacy, math, science, social studies, fine motor, sensory
                      skills, and social skills.

Snacktime/lunchtime- Children sit and enjoy a supervised snack time.  This a great
opportunity to work on self-help skills, conversational skills, and social
                skills.

Read-a-loud- Read and discuss a story.

Outdoor/Gross Motor Time-  An opportunity to use the playground equipment,
(swings, slides, and climbers). On inclement weather days, gross motor
activities will take place in the classroom or the gym (parachute games,
obstacle courses, running, skipping, galloping, jumping, ball skills, etc.)

*Quiet/Independent Play Time*- Since the full day preschool day is only five hours, an official rest time is not required.  However, the children will have a quiet independent play time after lunch to rest their bodies and regain energy for the remainder of the school day.
